Comedones
Comedones
Excessive activity of the sebaceous glands and/or blockage of the ducts leads to an accumulation of oil, dead skin cells and dirt inside the pores.
Visually, comedones appear as black or yellowish dots—commonly known as “blackheads.” They are typically found on the chin, forehead, nose and back, where sebaceous glands are most concentrated. Both open and closed comedones exist, as well as superficial and deep forms.
Comedones most often appear during puberty due to hormonal changes. In adults, in addition to hormonal imbalance, possible causes include chronic stress, gastrointestinal dysfunction, improper skin care, frequent use of unsuitable cosmetic products, poor nutrition and irregular eating habits.
Our clinic offers professional care focused not on superficial, temporary treatment but on identifying and addressing the underlying cause—significantly reducing the risk of relapse.
